FIFA World Cup Betting

The World Cup is the most important competition in international football and is organized by FIFA (International Federation of Football Association), the governing body of the sport.

The tournament takes place every four years. The previous tournament was held in 2014 in Brazil and Germany won the World Cup. For 2018, the tournament will be held in Russia.

The first European Football Championships was held in 1960. Only 4 teams took part in the finals which were held in France. Since then the European Football Championships tournament grew to the 16 team format we will see in Austria-Switzerland during Euro 2008. The tournament was originally called the European Nations Cup and changed it's name in 1968.

Betting on soccer is a little different from betting on other sports. Moneyline wagers have three outcomes: You can pick either of the two teams to win, or you can pick a draw. Remember, if you do not pick a draw and the game ends in a tie, you will lose your wager.

Game Time Frame

All games are official for wagering purposes after 40 minutes of the second half have been completed. Unless otherwise specified, the score at the end of regulation play - that is, 90 minutes plus injury time - will be used when settling all wagers. Any results from extra time, golden goals or penalty shootouts are not included.
