Group B is probably already said and done with at this point. Chile and Germany will have their say at the top of the group, but for the most part, it won't matter who finishes first and who finishes second of the bunch. If we're being honest, Germany and Chile probably don't need to worry much about their match on Thursday night. They're both almost certain to get through Group B at this point and into the knockout rounds of the Confederations Cup, and we wouldn't bet against these two being the teams left standing in another week and a half. Juan Carlos Osorio made no bones about the fact that he's really disappointed in his Mexico side right now. For the second time in a week, his club went up against one of the 10 or 15 best teams in the world and ultimately dominated possession. But for the second time in a week, those efforts were only good enough for a draw. Though Russia and New Zealand are kicking this tourney off, the bigger affair in Group A is clearly the duel between typical soccer powers, Portugal and Mexico.
